Does this sound familiar?

The content is often already there. What is missing is someone who takes charge and gets content, decision-making and execution aligned again.

The project has stalled

The schedule keeps slipping, meetings pile up and nobody has the full picture. I make the current status clear and set out a realistic path forward.

Decisions keep getting postponed

Business, IT and operations each want something different. I map out the options and their consequences, so the steering committee can decide.

The system is live, adoption is not

The software has been bought or built, but the shop floor still works the old way. I lead the rollout all the way through to acceptance.

Your team lacks capacity or experience

An important program is on the roadmap, but there is no experienced lead in-house. I step in for a defined period.

Services

Three types of engagements, often combined. Most programs touch systems, processes and people at the same time.

IT implementations

"We bought a new system. Now it has to actually work."

Leading SaaS implementations and in-house software development, from requirements and decision-making to rollout and acceptance.

  • CRM and customer contact platforms
  • ERP development and rollout
  • Integrations between systems
  • Translating business needs into IT delivery

Proven at: Dynamics CRM, Dixa, in-house ERP

Operational Excellence

"Our processes cost too much time, too many trips and too much manual work."

Improving processes and performance, with an eye for both day-to-day operations and the technical setup.

  • Process redesign and Lean improvement
  • Logistics and operations redesign
  • Digitizing planning and registration
  • KPI management and dashboards

Proven at: GLS line haul, Lidl facility management

Change management

"The strategy is set, but the organization is not moving with it."

Change that goes beyond systems or processes. I bring structure, connect stakeholders and get people moving.

  • Stakeholder and steering committee management
  • Adoption across departments and sites
  • Governance and decision-making frameworks
  • Reporting and advice to senior management

Proven at: HES group-wide, GLS customer service

Results

Programs I led in my roles at HES International, GLS Netherlands and Lidl Netherlands, before I founded Rex Project Management.

GLS Netherlands 2021 – 2024 Business Information Consultant, reporting to the IT Director

Nationwide redesign of the line-haul network

Challenge
Transport between 14 depots and the central hub had to become more efficient, easier to track and easier to plan.
Role
Fully accountable from initiation through implementation and evaluation. Led a cross-functional team of hub and depot managers, planners, developers and testers. Reported to a steering committee with the IT Director and the Operations Director.
Result
A fully digitized line-haul process. It included freight route tracking, trip registration per subcontractor and driver, scanning of trailers and loading docks, a docking and yard planner with apps for yard staff and drivers, live depot screens and digital CMR waybills. This delivered highly optimized routes, fewer transport trips and better compliance and traceability of parcels and pallets.
GLS Netherlands 2021 – 2024 Business Information Consultant

Customer contact platform for the entire Dutch customer service team

Challenge
Customer service still relied on Outlook email and phone calls that were transferred manually.
Role
Accountable for the implementation of Dixa, from kickoff through full acceptance, in nine months. Worked with Customer Service, Operations, IT and HR.
Result
Integration with the in-house ERP, so agents see parcel and shipment status directly, and a faster feedback loop from customer service to operations. I then led the rollout of a time registration system for employees and temporary staff.
HES International 2024 – 2026 Group Commercial Support Manager, strategic advisor to the CCO

Group-wide CRM implementation at a European terminal operator

Challenge
Commercial processes and reporting differed per terminal. The group of 14 terminals needed one CRM, connected to the legal contract processes.
Role
Overall responsibility for the Microsoft Dynamics CRM implementation. Initiated the integration with Legisway, together with Commercial, Legal and external partners. I also developed a uniform framework for business cases and analyses for the Executive Committee and the Supervisory Board.
Result
A group-wide process for opportunity management and commercial reporting, with Power BI dashboards for pipeline, forecast and KPIs.
Lidl Netherlands 2017 – 2021 Facility Management Specialist (national)

National facility management strategy for 440+ stores

Challenge
Management, maintenance and technical availability of more than 440 stores called for one national approach.
Role
Co-author of the national facility management strategy and functional lead for regional facility management teams. Analysis and reporting within a maintenance budget of approximately €25 million.
Result
A shared national way of working and support for the technical availability of more than 200 sites. Earlier, as a management trainee, I took two office buildings from handover to operational use.

About Jelle

Experience in operations, logistics and strategy since 2016, with a continuous track record of IT and change programs since 2021.

I connect strategy and the shop floor. I speak the language of senior management, IT and operations, and I make sure they understand each other.

I have worked in environments where things have to work in practice: depots, terminals and stores. That taught me a project is only finished when people actually work differently. That is why I manage not only scope, schedule and budget, but adoption as well.

With Rex Project Management, I put that experience to work for organizations that want to get an important program right, or get a stalled one moving again.

Why Rex? Rex is Latin for king, which is what my last name, Koning, means. It also reflects how I work: taking charge and owning the result until it's delivered.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions clients usually ask first.

What does Rex Project Management do?

Rex Project Management leads IT implementations, Operational Excellence initiatives and change programs as an interim project manager or program manager. From the first analysis and decision-making through rollout, adoption on the shop floor and handover to the business.

How quickly can you start?

I am available immediately. After an intro call and approval of the proposal, I can usually start within a few days.

How many hours per week can you work?

From 8 to 40 hours per week. A part-time engagement suits a quick scan or program oversight alongside an existing team, for example; full-time suits a fast-paced implementation.

Is Rex Project Management an IT firm?

No. I am not a developer or technical architect, but the link between business, IT and operations. I translate needs into requirements, direct IT teams and vendors, and make sure the solution works in practice.

Which industries do you have experience in?

Ports and bulk terminals, parcel and freight logistics, retail and pharma. The approach applies more broadly to organizations with a strong operational core.

Where do engagements take place?

Based in the Westland region near The Hague and Rotterdam, I work across the Randstad and the rest of the Netherlands, on site at the client and hybrid where it makes sense. International programs in English are also possible.

How do we get started?

You send a short description of the program. After a one-hour intro call, you receive a proposal with the approach, time commitment, rate and schedule.

What does an engagement cost?

The rate depends on the duration, the hours per week and the complexity of the program. After the intro call, you receive a proposal with a clear rate, so you know where you stand up front.

Can you provide references?

Yes. References are available on request. After the intro call, I am happy to put you in touch.
